Privacy Policy

Mission Alarm Clock Pro

CloudEx Inc. ("we", "us", or "our") provides the Android app "Mission Alarm Clock Pro" (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the App handles, how it is used, and the choices available to you. By using the App, you are deemed to have agreed to the practices described in this Policy.

1. Our Core Principle

Mission Alarm Clock Pro is an alarm clock that keeps ringing until you complete a mission, such as solving math or scanning a barcode, and it also offers sleep tracking. Alarms, missions and sleep tracking run on your device, and their data is stored on your device. The App does not require an account and does not have the device location permission. We never receive, or store on our servers, any of the following:

  • Your alarm settings and wake-up history
  • Photos registered for the photo mission, images seen by the camera, and the contents of codes registered for the barcode mission
  • Your sleep records, recordings of snoring and sleep talk, and anything captured by the microphone
  • Your device location

The App communicates outside your device when it uses the external services described in Section 6. For Android Auto Backup and backup files you export yourself, see Section 8.

2. Information Stored Only on Your Device

The following information is stored only on your device and is never sent to our servers:

  • Alarm settings: time, repeat, missions, sound, label, and so on
  • Wake-up history: how long it took to dismiss the alarm, the number of snoozes, and the results of the wake-up check ("Are you awake?")
  • Mission registrations: photos registered for the photo mission and the contents of codes registered for the barcode mission
  • Sleep records: bedtime and wake time, estimated sleep stages, estimated snoring, and notes and factors you add
  • Recordings of snoring and sleep talk: short clips of sounds detected during sleep tracking (Section 3)
  • App settings

This information is erased from your device when you uninstall the App or clear the App's data.

3. Sleep Tracking and the Microphone

Mission Alarm Clock Pro uses the microphone only after you start sleep tracking.

  • While sleep tracking is running, the App works as a foreground service and shows a notification. The microphone is used only while that notification is shown.
  • The App detects snoring and sleep talk in the microphone input and records short clips of them.
  • Recordings are stored only on your device and are never sent to our servers. They are not included in Android Auto Backup either.
  • You can delete sleep records and recordings at any time from each night's screen.

Sleep stages, snoring and other figures are estimates based on your device's microphone and accelerometer. The App is not a medical device.

4. Permissions the App Requests and Their Purposes

Mission Alarm Clock Pro uses the following permissions only for the stated purposes:

  • Camera (CAMERA) — Used to photograph the spot you register for the photo mission and to match it when the alarm rings, and to scan codes for the barcode mission. Captured images are used only for matching; nothing is saved except the photos you register.
  • Microphone (RECORD_AUDIO) — Used only after you start sleep tracking, to detect snoring and sleep talk and record short clips (Section 3).
  • Physical activity (ACTIVITY_RECOGNITION) — Used to count steps and body movements for the walk and squat missions.
  • Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS), full-screen notifications (USE_FULL_SCREEN_INTENT) and exact alarms (USE_EXACT_ALARM) — Used to ring alarms reliably at the set time and to show the ringing screen over the lock screen.
  • Display over other apps (SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW, optional) — Used to show the ringing screen when an alarm goes off while you are using your phone.
  • Run at startup (RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED) — Used to reschedule alarms after your device restarts.
  • Vibration (VIBRATE) and keeping the device awake (WAKE_LOCK) — Used to alert you with vibration and to keep processing from stopping while an alarm is ringing or sleep tracking is running.
  • Internet (INTERNET) — Used to communicate with the external services described in Section 6.

5. Information Collected Automatically

  • Crash reports: Via Firebase Crashlytics. When the App crashes, we collect the stack trace, device model, OS version, and app version. Recordings, photos and sleep records are not included.
  • App usage statistics: Via Google Analytics for Firebase. Anonymous app usage events (such as the App being opened) may be collected together with device information and the device's advertising ID (AAID). We use this data to understand app usage and to measure the effectiveness of our own advertising campaigns (counting app installs that resulted from an ad). It is never used to display ads in the App. You can reset the advertising ID or opt out in your device settings (Section 11).

6. External Services (Information Sent Outside Your Device)

6.1 Google Play

The purchase and restoration of Premium (a one-time in-app purchase) are handled by Google Play Billing. Payment information such as credit card numbers is handled by Google; we never receive it. The App also uses Google Play for in-app reviews and in-app updates.

6.2 Weather (Premium, only when you turn it on)

Only if you turn on the weather display, the latitude and longitude of the area you choose (rounded to two decimal places) are sent to the weather forecast API of the Norwegian Meteorological Institute (MET Norway, api.met.no) to get the forecast. Area search uses your device's place-name search (Android's Geocoder), which is processed by the service of your device's provider. Your device location is not used.

6.3 Barcode Scanning (Google ML Kit)

Codes for the barcode mission are read with Google's ML Kit, which is built into the App. Scanning is performed on your device, and camera images and the contents of codes are never sent. For diagnostics and usage analytics of the feature, ML Kit sends Google information about the device and the App, performance and configuration of the processing, error types, and similar data.

6.4 Sister Apps List

"Sister apps" on the Settings screen introduces our other apps. The data for that list is fetched from our server (Cloudflare Pages). The App only downloads the list and sends none of your information. Which apps are shown is decided on your device based on its country and language settings.

6.5 Third-Party Services We Use

Mission Alarm Clock Pro uses the following third-party services. Each service has its own privacy policy.

  • Firebase Crashlytics (Google LLC) — crash diagnostic data
  • Google Analytics for Firebase (Google LLC) — anonymous app usage statistics and measurement of our own ad campaigns (install conversions)
  • Google Play Billing, in-app reviews and in-app updates (Google LLC) — payments are completed on the Google Play side
  • Google ML Kit (Google LLC) — barcode scanning (processed on your device) and diagnostic data for that feature
  • MET Norway weather forecast API (Norwegian Meteorological Institute) — only if you turn on the weather display
  • Cloudflare Pages (Cloudflare, Inc.) — delivery of the sister apps list data

The App contains no third-party advertising SDK. "Sister apps" on the Settings screen introduces our own other apps.

7. How We Use Information

The limited information we receive is used only for the following purposes:

  • Operating and maintaining the App
  • Diagnosing and fixing crashes
  • Understanding app usage and improving the App (analytics)
  • Measuring the effectiveness of our own advertising campaigns (install conversion measurement)
  • Responding to support inquiries
  • Complying with applicable laws

8. Backup

  • Android Auto Backup: App data such as your alarm settings, wake-up history, sleep records and the photos registered for photo missions may be included in Android Auto Backup (your Google account). Snoring and sleep-talk recordings are not included. Auto Backup is performed by Android and Google, and we never receive its contents.
  • Exporting a backup file: You can export your alarms and settings as a backup file to a location you choose (for restoring on a new phone). The exported file stays under your control and is never sent to us.

9. Data Retention and Deletion

  • Crash reports: retained for 90 days, then deleted.
  • Analytics data: retained by Google Analytics for up to 14 months, then deleted.
  • Support emails: retained for 12 months after the last reply, then deleted (except where legally required).
  • Data on your device: you can delete sleep records and recordings from each night's screen, and alarms from the alarm list, at any time. Uninstalling the App deletes all of its data on your device.

10. International Data Transfers

We are based in Japan. Google's infrastructure used for crash diagnostics, usage statistics and diagnostics of the barcode scanning feature, and the weather forecast API of the Norwegian Meteorological Institute, may be located outside your country of residence. When you use the App, the limited information described above may be processed outside your country of residence.

11. Your Rights

Depending on where you reside (e.g., the EEA, UK, California, Japan), you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of the limited information we hold. You can:

  • Reset or delete your device's advertising ID in your device settings (Settings → Google → Ads)
  • Turn off the weather display to stop sending data to the weather forecast API
  • Delete sleep records, recordings and alarms, or uninstall the App to erase all of its data on your device
  • Contact us at the address below to make a request regarding the information we hold

12. Children's Privacy

Mission Alarm Clock Pro is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age applicable in your region). If we inadvertently collect information from such a child, we will delete it promptly upon being contacted.

13. Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. When it changes, we will announce it on this page together with the effective date.
